Snow day... back to the zoo
Posted By: Bud, 01-27-2009, 09:24 PM

5 inches of snow seemed like a good enough reason to stop by the Cincinnati Zoo again and check out the activity.

All shots with K20D and DA55-300 or FA77 ltd

I'm not sure if the cheetahs thought I was a zoo keeper... or lunch.
DA55-300

None of the critters seemed to be enjoying the weather as much as this guy...
DA55-300

I stepped into the Cat House to warm up a little and found a use for the FA 77 ltd with this little guy... it's a Sand Cat... cool little animal. Then the freezing rain started... and I was done for the day. The good news... there's 6 more inches of snow in the forecast for tomorrow ;-)

cool shots! I wish my car drove better in the snow... I'd love to get more snow shots. Love the cheetahs, especially the closeup.

Wow, the first and the last shot are outstanding in deed!

The fur and the pop are amazing

I recently invested in a new set of tires... wouldn't have made the trip without them

Thanks for your comments!

Thanks! It is so cool when there's so little traffic at the zoo.... many of the animals seem to pay close attention to everything you do and the cheetahs were intensely watching me.

Thanks, James! Never underestimate the potential of the mighty DA 55-300!

We got another 6 inches of snow today... and I really want to go back down there. I'm actually enjoying this mess of a winter we're having

Thanks for the comments,

Bud

Great shots; the polar bear looks happy that he's surrounded by the white stuff that he likes!

Fantastic job. The colours, the textures of fur, sharpness. And very funny and tender poses.

Nice shots, Bud. I really, really like #2! Little different shooting weather than the Shenandoah shoot.
