Posted By: dws1117, 01-31-2009, 09:17 PM

I know I can do better, but I am happy with the results. This is my daughter. She'll be 3 in another month. She dressed her self and she doesn't care about matching.

C & C welcomed and encouraged. K200D, DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II, 540 flash on camera.

Focal length: 55*mm*(equiv. 82*mm)
Aperture: F5.6
Exposure time: 1/125"
ISO speed rating: 400/27°
Program: Shutter priority
Metering Mode: Spot

She's cute Wayne and you captured her expression well. You could make it a tighter crop if you wanted, I think that might improve it. I would do it from the top to just below the top of the hat and from the right to the edge of the hat.

Nice shot Wayne I like the second one better as well. Getting a 3 year old to stay still for any kind of shutter speed is an acomplishment well done @

So adorable and so serious! It's a great photo, and I know that even mediocre images of my son are five star shots in my eyes, so you must love this one.

Feedback wise, I'd say the only detractor for me is the out of focus white trim/moulding coming out of her head and shoulders in the background - for next time, if you can pick a different baground, or shoot with something which allows for a wider aperter/shallower dof, to blur out the background more (maybe the k50/1.2 it looks like you've got - say at f/2.8 or f/3.5 or so?). But it's not a big deal, and having a one year old myself, I can only imagine you were lucky to get her to pose stationary for you on her terms for any period of time, let alone changing lenses and moving locations etc... Nice work.

Lovely!

It also shows how versatile the Pentax Kit lens is - showing great sharpness & lovely color rendition.

Print this out at 5x7 and it will look beautiful

A truly beautiful shot of a beautiful subject. Very well done. That hat is a great prop.
