Museum shootings
Posted By: Maffer, 02-01-2009, 05:44 AM

Helloes. Here's some photos from yesterday's museum round with my new DA35mm limited lens. The lightning there was very DIM and the use of flash was forbidden so I had to rely on High ISO of K200D, very low shutter speeds and shake reduction because I didn't have a tripod with me. So everything is handheld. I'm pretty pleased of how the shots ended up.

Two shots with ISO 800. They are from finnish civil war exhibition. First some casket fashion:

DA35mm is indeed deadly sharp:

Then some abstract case of an old metering system shot in front of a huge wall print of an old factory scene:

I think these are excellent for handheld. And clean for 800iso.

The Reds and the Whites. I spent a summer in Finland as a teenager in the '80s. A beautiful country.

Impressive series! The first one is really powerful, one of those that tell a story for more than thousand words!

Thanks for comments! Still salvaging usable material from a pile of RAW files. Lots of noisey stuff and some partly ruined by glass flares as not all subjects were in the open. The things I learned were that:

1) Have the fastest glass possible when going to a museum with camera
2) Have a polarizer to eliminate glass reflections...
3) Get a K20D for ISO 1600
