The first shot is really well done, very commercially oritend but it works!

Lucky that you did not paint these kids into different colours

Kids are tough to shoot right, but you've done real good here.
They're all sharp and with decent expressions (no picking noses or funny faces or crying), although you probably deleted some with those problems...

I like the 2nd shot best.....really sharp and nice DOF.

A few critiques:

- #1 looks a bit soft. I know it's hard to catch small kids in focus when they're moving so much. Maybe a little more DOF would help.

- #3 looks blown out in several areas. Looks like you lost some skin tone in the process.

- Some people may find the double catchlights distracting

They're very nice, but maybe look a bit overexposed to me in general. Is that common and desirable for this kind of shooting?

Hm the first one is tack sharp on the eyes which is all Im going for as it softens the skin. The third one she is wearing an outfit with a shear to it and I shoot for skin tones which if you underexpose a young child and bring it back they get really red so I picked the better of two evils.

On my calibrated monitor they look perfectly exposed... The only one with any blown highlights is #3 an it's in the fabric of her outfit. I can fix the highlights in that shot but these are straight raw to jpegs no added touches.

You're right about that first shot.....I stand corrected. I was looking at the near eye (her left one) when it was the right eye that's in focus. I guess I was just expecting the near eye to be in focus and didn't really look at the other on. My bad...

Excellent work Chris. The second shot is the home run for me. Love the expression and tones in that one. Well done. You are really taking off in your career.
