A Texas Pentax Day
Posted By: rfortson, 03-26-2007, 08:07 PM

Spent the weekend visiting in-laws in central Texas (hill country). Had a lot of fun, and of course, this is wildflower time. Here's my contribution to World Pentax Day.

Russ, That is a great shot. What a backdrop. Great subjects too.

Russ, where were the pictures taken in the Hill Country? The bluebonnets haven't bloomed like that up here yet.

Wow, could that backdrop be any more beautiful. This is a fantastic picture, very well exposed and composed.

Matthew, we found this (small) patch on Hwy 71 about 20-30 miles outside of Austin this past Sunday. It was right beside the highway, but the patch was really thick. By me standing, plus being slightly uphill and having the girls kneel, I was able to cut out all the other extraneous stuff and make it look like there were bluebonnets for miles around. I will say, though, that we saw lots of patches like this between Austin and Houston. I expect this weekend to really be "bustin' out".

Beautiful backdrop for two beautiful ladies. Great shot Russ. Stuff is just starting to come out here in the city, just an hour north there's still patches of snow. I figure in about a week or so there will be daffodils all over the city.

Very nice, Russ. Certainly different than coastal Texas!

You've made a cliche type of photo look good. And the women helped, too.

Nothing like Texas Bluebonnets.
