Taronga Park Zoo, Sydney
Posted By: srp, 02-03-2009, 11:06 PM

Only my third post here but I thought I should upload some photos of my recent visit to Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney at Christmas time. My wife surprised me with a Sigma 70-300mm APO lens for Christmas so this was one of he first times to try it out.

Very happy with the lens (for the price) and loving this new hobby!!!

Lion and tiger shots taken through thick glass but turned out OK (to me at least)!

C&C welcome.

Cheers to all

Lovely shots. Makes me wish I'd saved for the APO model of that lens instead of the vanilla version. Your pics are a fair bit sharper.

Thanks Wombat, I'm not yet a pixel peeper but this lens is serving me well. I spend quite a bit of time camping with my family and hope this lens will capture some wildlife/nature shots. I have also taken some OK portrait shots as well...but only outdoors as this lens loves to hunt for auto focus in low light situations! But for $190Aus I'm not complaining!

thanks again..

Thanks gawan...yeah the lions were only like this for a few seconds so I was lucky to get the shot but didnt have time to get all the settings correct..but I suppose in some cases it can be more important to just get the shot!
