my new puppy
Posted By: Taff, 02-06-2009, 04:42 PM

just thought i would share a snap shot of our new puppy to be. Went to the breeders yesterday to view and put a deposit on the only male of the litter.
His Mum and Dad are australian champions in the show scene, his father being very highly awarded dog.
We are having this bundle of fluff as a pet
He is a Siberian Husky and is only 1 week old in this picture

There are a quite few around, and during the winter months they have husky racing (sledding with wheels) in the bush.
they handle the weather very well as long as they got plenty of water

They grow pretty fast, huskies do not get as big as malamutes, which is why they are far more popular as sled dogs (they weigh less and eat less). And because of this they are much swifter. a fully grown husky dog should be no more than 27kg compared to a malamutes 56kg, that is half the size
huskies are also much harder to train and you will rarely see a husky off his lead due to the inherent nature to want to run and run.

Looking at the size of his paws I'd say you'll have a nice sized boy there! Congrats on your new pup!
