First set of my pictures from my trip to Oregon in January. Went to the Columbia River Gorge, boy was it windy!

Great scenery so unlike where I live! Your shots look somewhat underexposed on my screen however. Am I right ?

Majestic landscapes that waterfall is great. I agree they do look a little underexposed.

Great scenery, good compositions, though a bit dark in my monitor.

It's definitely not like where I live either! And when there was a constant 30mph wind everywhere made it that much more different.

Thanks! Which one?

The hard thing with the waterfalls was that they were back-lit...

Apparently they're underexposed? I guess my monitor's just pumped up really bright? Thanks Gawan.

The Gorge is a beautiful area. I have been there many times. I do find the light difficult as the ridges are so close together that hardly any sun gets in. Great images. JIM

Yes! It is amazing. And that was definitely a problem here, as the sun was behind the cliffs even into near mid-day! Thanks Jim!

The lighting is often VERY difficult in "The Gorge", especially on the Oregon side in the winter. Places like Multnomah Falls don't receive any direct sunlight until mid-March at the earliest. Perspective is also a challenge since many of the waterfalls are pretty high and also pretty close to the available viewpoints. Invariably you end up shooting only the bottom 1/4 or 1/3 of the fall! (Matthew's picture of Multnomah Falls is only the top half...)
