White-Winged Crossbill
Posted By: palmor, 02-07-2009, 10:00 PM

In between the Owl shots we saw a group of people around a pine tree. Come to find out they where all looking at White-winged Crossbills which are very rare in our area. I managed to get a couple of shots even though the sun had gone behind some clouds and they were in the shade.

Thanks for the comments all! It was funny to see like 10 people follow these guys from tree to tree trying to get shots of them. I was of course the only Pentax shooter there. I must have looked odd being the only one without a big white lens

Very very nice shots, congrats. Oh..and remember black lenses scare birds less than white ones... honest.
