Perfectly dreary - great effect, Gus. Even the bird looks forlorn.

A neat and sort of provocative photo.

I love the background! The bird while in the focus seems just to be tyhere to make the background more interesting!

This is superb, but it doesn't evoke a gloomy day to me. I can't put my finger on it just yet Gus, to express in words, but it is outstanding; it has both an abstract-surrreal and real quality. Love it.

I liked the SF background too... the muted colors worked for me

You are too kind... It really caught my attention today as I was cleaning up some of my folders...
maybe that is why I felt gloomy, to many deletions and not enough keepers

OK... tell me if it works for you? I am not so sure

I like the color version better. You'd have to pump up the contrast in the B&W image for the bird to stand out more.

Gus, I prefer the color which looks like it a painting with the sharpness of the foreground. Nicely done. JIM

Great capture Gus - I have to agree with others the original is the best. Love the sharpness of the red brick contrasted with the black bird.

Great image on its own. The monocolour bokeh compliments the crow very well.
