Water & Toothbrush (1 img)
Posted By: heatherslightbox, 02-08-2009, 04:50 PM

This was an assignment for the photography class that I'm currently taking, that being to find the most creative way to shoot a toothbrush. Taken with the K20 & DFA100 and PPed in Lightroom.

I'm loving that class. I'm enjoying the challenge of shooting things (like my toothbrush) that I wouldn't ordinarily think to shoot. Last week, our instructor took us to a women's basketball game so that we could work on sports shooting. I've still got to go through those, pick out my best 3, edit them, and take them to class this week.

Thanks for the kudos.

I quite like the composition. First thing that came to mind was Chinese Water Torture.

Haha. that is exactly what my 6 year old says every morning when I am trying to get her to brush her teeth... "this is torture"

Interesting study, Heather! Did you got one where the drop just smashes to the paste?

No, I'm afraid not, although I'll have to give it a shot (no pun intended) sometime. Tomorrow night is when I actually get to share the pic with the instructor and the rest of the class. I'm really interested to hear their comments.

Thanks for all the good vibes.

Really nice shot Heather, your whites look a little gray to me, you might want to edit your white balance. Good luck in your class. By they way, Amanda sent an email today about the Cedar Key trip. hopefully the weathe will work for us this time.

I agree with Diane. Try to brighten up that white and do a high pass filter sharpen on it to make it have a little more "pop".

Your image file size was so small I don't know if this illustrates my point as well as I had hoped, but I tried.

Nice shot - I love how water drops have such funny shapes when you stop the action like that...
