A Matched Set
Posted By: Techiechick, 02-08-2009, 06:48 PM

I took this shot at Dudley Farm State Park. They were celebrating Plow Days. The State is planning on closing this 1830's working farm. There were many signing petitions to hopefully stop the closing.

I turned this image black and white and then painted the horses back in. They still almost look black and white too except for the red on their harnesses.

Beautiful pair there and I love the post work. It's interesting to see the different eye a person has after the shot has been taken. Your work after hitting the shutter draws you directly to the main subject and you can't help but take your time and take in the subject.

I like this one a lot! The reduced palette works for me, great composition and overall artistic impression!

Thank you so much Georg for you comment. I'm glad you liked it. I am going to a Civil War reenactment this weekend, so hopefully will have some new shots to post.

They happen to look like a pair of soldiers ready to march on.

Nice to see you back on the site

I was sure that I had left a comment on your thread, and now I don't see it. Hmmm. Second time, but I finally did change the batteries on my keyboard, so maybe that was the problem.
It is a very nice set and the powerful red lines decor is appropriately positioned to allow the rest of the elements to show. Excellent.

a lovely image, Diane. Chris was correct above, your PP work keeps the eye from wandering. I've looked back at it 3 or 4 times now, it's a mesmerizing image.

Diane,

This is a great image, but I am a little embarrased at what I thought your title was referring to.

Aren't they grand. Nothing like a dappled grey for that distinguished look.

Good shot Diane.

Cheers
