You couldn't help but hear him, but where is he in that magnolia?

Number 1

Number 2

Number 3

Did you guess?

Young Barred Owl sitting in the Magnolia in my front yard late this afternoon.

Wow, he looks pretty well concealed in there. Nice to see that you've managed to pick him out

mhoy,

The late afternoon sunlight was filtering through the magnolia leaves in some pretty unusual patterns and the wind blown leaves kept changing it from one minute to the next.

vagrant10,

You're right about that, he didn't take his eyes off me the entire time.

pop4,

My wife was standing right next to me and she never did manage to find him, so I finally went inside and got a laser pointer out of my briefcase and pointed him out to her. LOL

Nice, you had me right where you wanted me! It wasn't until the sweet 2nd picture that I could see the owl in the first.

Thanks, I actually toyed with the idea of only posting the first one and having a contest. Alas, I have no guts.

Gary,

Thanks for commenting, I've been trying to balance the exposure a little in PSP X2 to expand the dynamic range a little and restore the partially blown-out highlights.

that second shot is great. almost looks like you climbed the tree and popped a strobe up there before taking the shot.

Dave,

He kinda was, trying to keep an eye on me just in case I was a predator.
