My wife in action...
Posted By: heliphoto, 02-12-2009, 12:01 PM

She's a ripper...

next one's cropped to make up for lack of skill (didn't pan fast enough to keep nice composition - oh yeah, and the horizon was tilted)...

She's in here somewhere...

Nice shots!
Thanks. The weather sealing is a huge comfort in the powder.

Great series Josh and you can tell she can ski too! JIM
Thanks Jim. She taught skiing for something like seven years, and also ski patrolled some.

Taken with DA* lens?? taking advantage of the weatherproofing against the sudden huge puffs of snow?

Great shots
Thank you... Yep, it was the DA* 16-50, sorry I forgot to mention it. It was snowing off and on as well as the puffs of snow, and the wx. sealing gave me great peace of mind.

Thanks - I'll let her know you thought so. She used to go pretty big in the park, but destroyed her ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) several years ago landing a jump, so she's a bit more cautious now.

Awesome work Josh.
So when are you going to be brave enough to get right underneath her for one of those jumps?

All has been said. Really like no-2. I wouldn't tell people you cropped the shot I guess may be if they ask) , we have to deal with the image as is- and that is, it works and it is a good shot.

Not sure what they were expecting, but at least a few of y'all left comments . Thanks Rense.

I'll do it Gary, but it'll have to be a little bit higher a jump - sounds like good work for the fisheye.

Thanks JMR - I felt the need to comment on the crop since #2 follows directly from #1 (less than a second between 'em) and I couldn't have zoomed in that quick, yet I'm clearly "zoomed" on the subject and the background and I figured someone would notice - so I preempted them

Do it - there's little more fun than skiing or snowboarding. Just be sure to take a lesson from a professional rather than a friend/relative. Instructors actually know what they're talking about . Thanks for your comment.

Sorry to hear about the ACL. I quit jumping when I had my ACL done about 10 years ago. I quit skiing double diamonds alone when I ruined my right arm and shoulder 5 years ago. (Don't ever try ramming an ice-covered boulder with your shoulder...it simply is not made for that...)

Steve

(So lucky I had my wreck right under the chair lift rather than out in the boonies somewhere...)
