I like the composition in the second photo, but the colors aren't as interesting. I might like it more as black and white

The white balance looks a bit off in the first shot, a bit too warm. Second shot, I see some potential there. Third shot, it's tilted to the right, so you might want to make the shot level. Also, try not to put the horizon halfway in the photo. It's usually better to put it 1/3 or the way up, or 1/3 of the way down, and makes for better composition. Though I do like the colours there.

Just some constructive criticism to try to help you improve, and I hope I'm not being too harsh.

Thanks for all the criticisms; that's why I post them here: finding ways to improve.

Yeah, k100d tends to be a bit warm when shotting indoor, any suggestion to fix that, or am I forced to do manual white balance.

about the horizon, I hearded somewhere it should be 1/3 up or down. But I tend to forget all those rules onsite. thanks for the reminder.
