some HDR from today
Posted By: shed301, 02-14-2009, 03:42 AM

ok got up early this morning in hope of trying some HDR photo's 2 hours away but the weather played havoc with me so i did the best i could under the conditions

then went back into town and decided to have a play around a bit there... locals should recognise the beaches around the top of shelly bay in wellington NZ

and i'll throw this one into the fire basically because to me it looks like it's trying to back down the hill with the lean it's on... anyways else see it or is it only just me?

it also maybe a little to dark for my liking now that i've previewed it

cheers
Grant

The first two shots are very striking with rich colour and contrast!

Beautiful!

the one with rocks is my fave, it has real depth to it that draws you in. i always love how hdr brings out the colors and tones in water.

Nice job on the HDR! It's really hard for me to keep from blowing out HDR pics, but you've done it really well! I kind of like the first one -- if only because of the understated richness in tone provided by the grass in front of the house.

I liked all three. I would lighten the sky up in all three if I was doing the processing. I found the overdark sky to be a distraction.

I am not a real HDR fan, but when well handled can come up very well.
I particularly like the first 2 shots, well done!

So you say the weather was playing havoc with you. You should be so lucky. Except in downpours, inclement weather always creates conditions for better images. no-1 is superb, HDR or not. It's a good composition and the quality of light enhances the landscape and the colours of the abandoned house.

The second and third images look a bit overdone to me, but I am sure you can work on them a bit.

Love the first one, but the others are pretty awesome too.

Does the first one remind you a little of the Cadrona pub?
