Here are some that were taken from the passenger seat between Dusseldorf and Nienburg. DA*50-135 through the window.

Wow, these are great Alan. I'm really impressed with the pics from the window; I find it hard to compose while moving like that =) Looking forward to more!

The funny thing about this image is that in German you'd call someone a "Kamel" (camel) if you thought he did something stupid. So the sign over the smoking zone ironically comments on the addicts inside of it. Not sure this kind of sponsoring works as intended.

I really like your cathedral shots. Well done!

You are definitely getting around the countryside. Weather doesn't seem to be all that bad. I'm enjoying your travelogue.

Great to see your street photography from a continent with so much architectural history. As always, a fantastic eye for colour and comp. Love it!

Thanks for the comments...

The weather hasn't been great, but I've tried to make due. Other than one or two days, the skies have been overcast. Temps have been bearable though, so at least I've been able to get out and walk.

I really have this obsession with the old architecture, especially the churches. Even the smallest churches are stunning. I probably spent a good 30-45 minutes in that last church, shooting it with the DA35, 10-17, and 12-24. I was with my wife and since there was shopping in the area, she didn't mind me taking my time there.

[B]Some street shooting in Heiedelberg...

Nice pictures, maxwell1295. Bit cold & wet this time of year. Summer, when temps are typically in the upper 70's and low 80's, is a much better time to visit as a tourist (late July through early Sept is usually the very best).

While you were here, did you visit the university's museum and student jail? When students got class detention years ago, they really got detention. Did you visit the nearby Audi, BASF, Heidelberg Cement, and Leica Microsystems factories? Did you visit the Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG factory in nearby Wiesloch-Walldorf, manufacturer of the Heidelberger offset printing presses? What about the nightlife, ranging from very traditional beer pubs to modern nightclubs? A ride up both sides of the Neckar river is pretty interesting as well, with a string of small towns and several smaller castles.

One could spend weeks in the Heidelberg area just touring the major sights.
