Snow on the Rim
Posted By: ThorThum, 02-16-2009, 10:21 AM

The recent snows stuck around, so my GF and I finally went north and hour and a half to the Grand Canyon to see what we could see. We went cross country skiing along the rim and came back with a bunch of shots here are a few:

Really great - with some excellent dynamic range.

Have you tried losing some of the shadow detail (Curves/Levels) to create a really contrasty mountain scene.

No's 1&3 could work quite well in B&W as well

cheers

Thanks guys. You are all most kind, I'm glad you enjoyed the pics. I filled 2 -2gb cards on that trip, so I'll post more later. Thanks for looking!

A really nice series of the GC. This is one of the best times of the year to go too. Another place to go on my itinerary.

Cool shots

Is this the South Rim? I am going there in April and am really looking forward to it, this will be my first trip there, but I'm sure it won;t be my last.

Yeah, the South Rim. They close the North Rim for winter, and re-open May 15th I think. Thanks for looking.
