Testing new lens
Posted By: slowpez, 02-17-2009, 12:52 PM

Haven't been contributing much lately but I have been lurking a lot.
Finally broke down and bought the DA 16-45. Kept waiting for the weather to improve so I could take it out and test it. Love the lens.

These are my first attempt at buildings. Love to know what you think.

The 2nd shot is very well taken. The cloud seems to bury the tip of the building itself!

That's funny, I like the first shot best. Kind of abstract with a soft shimmering light. BTW, that's my lens too!

Thanks JMR. I have seen so many great pictures taken with this lens. It will be my primary lens on our big trip out west this spring. We will be gone for five to six months and I hope to come back with some really impressive pictures.

Thanks roentarre. That's what I liked about the photo too. My husband, alas, didn't care for it so much but I think I'll keep it.

Susan,

Nice first attempt at buildings. If I might make one suggestion; try using a polarizer on your next attempt to add some saturation and make the sky look more interesting.

Congratulations on the new DA 16-45. I look forward to see what you do with it over the next few months.
