It was finally time to say good buy to the East Cost.....
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 02-17-2009, 09:12 PM

....so I headed to Digby, NS to take the ferry to Saint John, NB. It is about a three hour crossing and here are a few (ten) images from that crossing.

Many of the images are not really sharp but considering the long exposures from a moving ship I deemed them to be acceptable.

This is the vehicle deck of the "Princess of Acadia"

All with K10D and 16-45

If anyone is interested the whole series is here:On and from ferries 2008 Photo Gallery by Heinrich Lohmann at pbase.com

Comments are always welcome and appreciated

Yet again a gorgeous series of shots Heinrich, those sunsets rock.
I'd just like to remind you about a conversation we had a while back.

I don't think you realised just how many pictures you had taken.

Wow, those middle three shots, with the rays of light though the clouds, and the sunsets are really nice.

That ninth shot is really something Heinrich. They are all good but I can't take my eyes off the ninth one. Beautiful.

Hi Gary and thank you. The good news is that I finally finished processing the whole trip and yes, there were a few that I had forgotten about. There will probably be another 2 or 3 post and than the trip is done.

Take care,

Hi Susan and thank you. That one almost got left out, it's not really sharp. But I kept looking at it and finally decided to include it. Glad that you liked it.

Take care,

I especially like the 5th, 6th, and 9th images. This series conveys your departure and voyage wonderfully.
What a sunset!

As much as I like great sunset captures, for me the second shot conveys a sense of motion and I can almost feel the progress of the ferry. Great job (as usual) Heinrich!

What is left to say. But I really like No-9 with its surreal look and colours.

These are great, Heinrich - I particularly like the night shot of the life boats.

BTW, I noticed that the ferry had no masts or sails - wonder what makes it go????
