I just saw the first 2 buttercups out in My town and I tried my hand at Macro Photography with my manual Sigma f75-300 APO

it's only the nicest flower, but here are the 2 best pictures

and the cropped versions

The first and third shot were good shots. The centre of the flower looks sharper. Did you use a flash in your second shot?

no flash. I don't know if it would have helped.
The sun set about 15 min later, so the lighting conditions were a little weird at the time.

I haven't really tried macro photography, so I have a lot to learn
