Spring awaits
Posted By: JMR, 02-18-2009, 06:34 PM

Forget the groundhog's shadow, can you hear Vivaldi's Spring suite? Or how about Song Sung Blue weeping like a willow... I know some people think it cruel to post such images in the middle of February, but it's cold in my basment as I write this, so I have to stay warm somehow.

Thanks Gary. I love those willows. Spring and autumn is when you get those orange-brown hues. And they look awesome against the snow on sunny day.

Now, that is a nice "springy" photo and it has awesome colors. Thanks for putting some color into this dreary winter.

Beautiful image. How long did you have to wait to get people perfectly framed by the willows?

I agree, sometimes having people and/or another element cements the image and makes it stand out more.

Thanks Heinrich. Winter is not always dreary, but it sure can be for long periods.

The image is cropped a bit because a seagull flew by at the top. I payed those people and picked out that woman's red hair wig and blue slacks. All kidding aside, I saw the scene and just waited for people to go by on that beautiful spring day. I must have taken at least six. You can't beat the Willows in spring before they turn green. Those pesky seagulls ruined quite a few.

No, of course not. These are form slide collection. I post few now and then. You will likely see the kind of weather in image about April. Since you are obviously for places to take photos, besides High Park and James Gardens, try Bronte Creek in first week of May where the wildflowers and Trilliums start blooming. Also don't forget the blossoms in Niagara Region.
