YES! Got one in!
Posted By: Rense, 02-20-2009, 11:59 AM

After some weeks of waiting, and after several declines, I got one of my photos in the PPG ! It's an older one, shot with the P30 and the worst lens I've got, the Takumar-A 28-80mm.

It should be in there Rense - very compelling.

I've never been able to figure out how one submits a picture to PPG. I wrote an email to the address indicated on the website (regarding submissions) but never got an answer. I guess they looked at the output I've posted here and decided it wasn't worth their time!

Anyway - great job and congrats.

Worst lens, eh.......this is super-fantastic and a great medicine for we LBAers. The surreal, fantasy-like quality is inspiring and enchanting here. Thanks!

Congratulations, it is the art that counts, not the lens! Very beautiful photo!
Thanks Georg, I guess you're right!

Congratulations Rense. Your image certainly deserves to be in the PPG.
Thanks wtlwdwgn (I wonder which vocals are supposed to be between those consonants...)!

Now, Now, let's not malign lenses. After all, its a beautiful image. Love the horizontally pointed hills and its reproduction in the lighter area. You will note the mist transcends both dark and light areas and helps to unify the image. The area outside the black hill is itself a shape that beautifully sends the viewer in or out of the image, as the case may be. Wonderful.

Maligning lenses is the last thing I wanted to do. It was more of a ironic note to my post... Thanks for your kind words, it makes me look again to this image!!

It's really the twelve inch behind the sensor than matters and not in front of it, indeed. I would love to someday take a shot as mystical as this. Great job! =)

Rense, that is just magical. Congrats!

EDIT: Sorry for being ignorant, but what's this PPG? Pentax Photo Gallery? And what's that then - an official Pentax-run gallery of fine pics or what?

Emr thank you! No need to say sorry! It's like in the army: once they start puking abreviations, one can't follow the conversation. You have to look here: Pentax Photo Gallery
