Say hello to my new friend!!
Posted By: dudlew, 03-31-2007, 05:45 PM

Ok , not my friend, but he posed willingly for the shots.

I was experimenting with my addon macro lens and got these shots.

Hope you enjoy!

And here are more flower macros. The first one is from today, and the last two are from thursday.

C & C welcome

All are terrific, but I particularly like #4 - it's unusal and compelling to me. I just picked up a macro lens a couple of weeks ago; your pictures are prompting me to play with it today.

Yeah, I agree with Sailor. All great shots, but the fourth one takes all my interest too! I hope you haven't run out of frames yet

Great shots, shallow DOF really works, love the colors too!

They are all very nice. I especially like the first and the fourth one.
The contrast between green spider and red flower is very compelling and gives the impression of what the spidey can do

Thanks Bostjan. There were a few ants on the same bunch of flowers, and I thought that he might go after them, but He just sat there and moved around a bit showing no interest in the ants.

Hey Sailor, glad you like #4. #4 and 5 were actually taken using the AF360FGZ flash with stofen bounce. There was nothing to bounce off of but I guess it diffused enough light to give the lighting that you see. I had to manual focus on this as it was too dark for the auto focus to work with this. I also like 4 and 5 as they remind me of a mike for some strange reason. Its like you can step puto it and start singing

Thanks Alvin. Do you the surrounding frame? No I am not out. Its a simple thing I do in Photo Shop, so no worries.

Glad you like them Duh_Vinci. The Raynox add on lens seems to contribute quite a bit to that DOF.

I really like both the first and the third. You mention use of an add-on macro lens, if you don't mind, would you be able to say which ? (Curious mind)
