I really like the first one. The detail is excellent with such a wide dynamic range.

Adrian I think both of these shots a fantastic .

I met a well known (buggered if i can remember his name hehehe) landsacape photographer ( AIPP landscape photographer many times over in recent years) just the other week and his tip was, when capturing landscapes, any light areas around the pictures allow the eyes to escape from the frame. So he darkens the edges on all of his landscapes. At first I thought that this was such an old fashioned way to photograph, but after seeing it in practice it is a very helpfull tip.
Try burning in the edges where the light escapes and see if it improves it

Was it at dusk or dawn at the shoulders of the exposure?
First one's great - I'm biased with the long exposures - just love 'em.
