Resurrecting a very old thread:

Here are a few from today's Wings Over Illawarra Wings Over Illawarra 2013 | Sunday 5th May | Illawarra Regional Airport

Pentax K-5 and DA* 60-250 (very heavily cropped).

The CAC Boomerang was Australia's only Australian-designed fighter of WW2.

The Lockheed Hudson is the only flying example in the world.

Interesting planes, bright colours and decent weather, just a photographers dream.

Great shots, do like the engine start up one especially.

Yes - and no. The bright sunlight meant getting reasonable shots in the afternoon was difficult as the sun was behind the aircraft. I didn't even attempt to take in-flight pics of the PBY Catalina as it was painted black. All one would get would be a silhouette of an aircraft.

Also, the bright sunlight gives us lots of problems with light and shade. An overcast day seems to be better - but we get so few of them.

More of the Roulettes, a CAC Mustang, and the only flying single seat Gloster Meteor in the world.

I heard an ad for the upcoming airshow on the radio today. $2.50 train fare from Sydney according to the ad. Not bad for 80km each way - better than in the UK!

Hi

As far as air shows is concerned, this would be an appropriate clip to post here.
Hope you all don't mind.

Would you put your life in the hands of this pilot and fly with him ? Anytime !

Greetings

Nice series, what's with the strange propeller blade angle in the red plane?
I know this is a long time ago but FWIW I believe that the Pilatus flown by the Roulettes has a variable pitch propellor.

BTW this is on tomorrow (Sunday) if anyone hasn't scrolled up a few posts where Ron mentioned it.

Weather does looks a bit iffy but you never know, it might clear reasonably early.
