San Xavier Mission (Tucson)
Posted By: bwield, 02-22-2009, 09:06 PM

Last post from Tucson as I travel back to Toronto tomorrow
This is a very nice spot just south of Tucson. A oasis in the desert.

The shots from the inside of the church were taken at ISO 2000, Thank you k20d! lol...

I beleive its under constant restoration and upkeep.
It was mostly completed before 1900 I beleive.
Actually one of the restorer's (?) also worked on the Cistine Chapel and said that San Xavier is the Cistine Chapel of North America

Nice angles to your shots. I particularly like number two! Great composition, and just the right amount of exposure!

That is not a surprise statement considering the colour and detail of the art work within. Truly amazing!

You have really managed to capture the feel of the old Spanish missons. Wonderful colors. Great job.
