Big swell hittin the coast...
Posted By: heliphoto, 02-22-2009, 11:07 PM

Took this from a bluff overlooking the Oregon coast last week.

The waves were HUGE, and I coulda spent all day just watchin' 'em, but instead I took about three minutes, didn't frame my shots all that well, and went back to drivin'.

An excellent image with great coast line depicted in a nostalgic way. Great B+W conversion

Great capture of all the coastal elements. the clouds and fog in the background add to the atmosphere of the photo

Since we're land-locked I really miss being near big water, especially the Ocean. I've never even seen the Pacific.

Thanks for sharing.

We are heading your way this spring for five or six months. Ain't retirement grand? Hope to spend at least a month in Oregon and a month in Washington. You have wet my appetite. Nice shot.

I sure wanted to stay longer, but... we were on a marathon drive - one of those, "miles to go before I sleep" moments.

Yeah, I wanna retire (I practically am retired this winter, but that'll turn around in a few months). Driving 101 along the Or. coast it seems like there's a state park every two miles or so - you'll have a blast.

I take many of these types of images and I can tell you, that you have a fine capture. Right place, right time. I agree you should have stayed longer and got perhaps a once in a lifetime capture.
Great DOF, What lens and setting where you shooting at?
