in Virginia Beach yesterday. Not much wild life there despite the beautiful weather.

I did manage to get these guys taking in a it of sun...

The reserve sits on a spit of land separating the Atlantic ocean from the Albemarle sound. Just south of the reserve is the Outer banks of North Carolina. The northern end of Outer Banks in fact start here.

Here are what the Atlantic dunes look like this time of year. It's pretty desolate.

Alan,

The first image is so cute one might think you planted them there in that order. Nice catch!

I have not taken any images with my 70-200 yet. Too cold and miserable with snow just melted and rain and snow forcasted for the next seven days. Did knock off one with the 100-300 EX yesterday though and posted it on one of the threads here.

BTW, there are good elements in the second image, but it needs some contrast and a little more of a focal point.

I like the turtles, and can hardly wait until next month when I'll be tossing the fly line in Turtle Lake (not it's real name but a good description)

The first photo is really cute. A line up with different sizes. There is good colour and contrast as well - typically from sigma 70-200 f2.8

The second photo is interesting - the snow with some arid ground. The pattern in the photo is intriguing. Seems like spring is not far away ...

Ya know, I knew this shot would get that reaction . I do have to admit, it does look like a setup, but it isn't. There were 7 or 8 of them sunning themselves when I approach. all but these 3 got spooked. I thought it was too good an opportunity to pass up. Besides, they were the only wildlife I saw all day.

Thanks all, for the comments.
