I got out my Tammy 70-300mm yesterday and tried again to take some photos with it. Would love to know what you think and suggestions for improvement.

This one was cropped and taken through a plexiglass window. Not other PP

This one was sharpened slightly.

No PP on this one.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The second shot could be fun as portrait - it's all vertical with very little going on side to side and a portrait shot would show off even more of what you captured - did you shoot one that you could post? Cheers,

Great shots, the tight composition really makes the ape photo!

Alas, no portrait view of the bird. He was behind a wire enclosure and kept moving that I wasn't able to get but the one shot.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I really appreciate the feedback.

I love this series - the common theme of focusing on the eyes. Terrific.

I never would have guessed in a million years that birds would have eye lashes and apes wouldn't.

The eyes have it!

Nice series Susan.

I very much like the first image. And whether you agree or not, I think all these images have abstract quality to them, inasmuch as they show colour and form that combine with eerie quality because of the eyes, which are almost human-like.

The Gorilla is great composition-wise. Pity the glass.

Hi, I have to agree with the others. The last 2 are good but the gorilla is the best. Thank you for sharing.
