I like it!!! Not sure how I feel about the tree but you can't chop it down I am sure.

The french frown upon those things.

Seriously, the damned thing was surrounded by trees getting in the way... it was hell trying to get ANY decent shot.

Nice perspective Pingflood.

(Isn't that 1DS MKII a bit chunky to drag around for casual touristy shooting?

You get used to it...

Honestly, when used with the R-strap it isn't bad to lug around. Sure, it gets in the way sometimes, but I can live with it.

I carried a gripped K20D around everywhere before, and that wasn't compact either.

Excellent angle, Eiffel is not that easy to shoot from that near position!

Ping, this is an impeccable choice of focal length (and everything else for that matter). The slight fisheye distortion makes it ever so subtly imposing without being menacing. I lift my hat to you, sir.
