Those are damn good!

I like 7 the best - for no particular reason though.

These are so Beautiful!

They are in all regards. Great shots.

I need to wait for a while before a I convert my k100d. Agency funding in danger so might now have a position come June!

I am curious as the the effect of IR on shooting through the haze. Have you tried side by side shots with a non IR camera? Comparable settings and PP? I think it would be interesting to see the effect on the details.

Thank you for the comments.

metroeloise: I have not tried a side by side comparison on the haze, but the IR photography seems to suffer less from haze than the normal photography. On these shots, the details on the other side of the Lake do come out much better than how I saw them with my eyes.

That is exciting news considering I live in the American North West. Perhaps by this fall I will have the IR set up and head off into the mountains and up along the coast.

Thank you.

Dominique,

These are fantastic IR shots. Having a IR converted K100D has to make IR shooting far different than using a R72 IR filter. Your composition and subject matter make these some of the most beautiful IR pictures I have seen.

Your pictures taken with the Tokina AT-X 80-400 encouraged me to purchase one. Perhaps now when I replace my K100D I will have to send it out for IR conversion.

Thanks for sharing these pictures,

Lou

I will try to make a direct comparison shot to make sure on the effect of the haze.

Wow, thank you Lou.

It is true that a ir modified camera makes a great change against the hoya R72. There are two main differences, the exposure returns to nearly normal values and the viewfinder remains usable. These do make the whole difference.

I hope the Tokina 80-400 works for you.

Thank you Scott. I think the used lenses do help in this "jump off the screen", I mostly used the FA*31 for these shots.

Thank you.

No, there is some pp involved to get these shots. First, I need to adjust the white balance, and then I swap red and blue.
