Is It Spring Yet?
Posted By: J.Scott, 03-01-2009, 05:01 AM

I saw these two while in Killarney yesterday.

They aren't going anywhere till spring!

I like little red tug boats! They make me smile!

Great shots Jeffrey! I like the light in both, I find it's quite hard to shoot good photos in such sunny+snow wheather!

That looks very wintery. Interesting to see boats frozen in the waters!

And here I am trying to get out of work this next Thursday and Friday because the desert blooms are almost in full swing here. These are pretty images, but it sure looks cooooold still!

We have snow warning out today (in South Carolina for heaven's sake!). Enough with the snow pictures, which are very good by the way. LaRee, send me some desert blooms.

Thanks. I find it challenging as well.

It is, in fact, extremely wintery! The wind chill has been in the -20C to -35C range for the last few days. The boats have thick steel hulls and can withstand the forces of the ice.

Thanks. I would really love to see the desert in bloom. It's on our 'bucket list' for sure!

Thanks for the kind words. I've had more than enough snow pictures but either I put the camera away or take snow pics. This winter has been especially harsh.

Thanks Jim. I really wanted to get closer to the red tug but I have a phobia against walking on ice, regardless of the thickness. The Warren L II was a lot closer to the shore and I only had to walk out about 100' to get this shot. I was cursing myself for not bringing the DA 55 - 300mm. I could have taken the picture from shore!
