Annapolis early morning B&W
Posted By: Eastern Shore Charlie, 03-01-2009, 06:25 AM

I have been very busy at work for the last couple months and needed some stress relief. I needed a DSLR fix. I decided that I would shoot a early am shot while going to work since I knew it would be a clear morning. Man was it cold...bad idea out in the cold near the water. I did not stay too long.... Here is my favorite of about 8 shots. I forgot I had the camera in JPEG instead of raw so the shots were noisy. I decided not to fight the JPEG noise after kicking myself and made this one in B&W ....added PS noise to give the Tri-x grainy look....thought it turned out pretty nice...shot with Sigma 10-20 and no filters...enjoy

I like it! If you hadn't mentioned that you'd shot it with a DSLR, I would've thought that you'd used film. Good job on the PP.

Very nice. The wife and I plan on taking the kids to Baltimore this summer for a little vacation. I'd love to swing by Annapolis again, such a beautiful town. It's like visiting Niagara-On-The-Lake around here.

That image has a lot of features, and yet it's not too busy. I like it - great perspective!

I wouldn't worry about the jpeg noise. If anything, it gives a morning mist filter effect which adds to the picture.

This is a great shot Charlie. I love the composition. When life gets crazy it is refreshing to get out and take a few photos isn't it? Thanks for sharing here!

That's a great shot! I should get up early and venture out too. Love the reflections.

(How cold could it be? Your river is still wet. )

Wonderful composition. Agree that it is a picture that keeps on giving. The more you look the more there is.

Wonderful shot! The 'film-type' grain creates nice mood together with fine composition.

The light create a great pattern visually. Striking image there. Good choice to convert it to B+W
