Birds Warblers
Posted By: wildman, 03-02-2009, 04:21 AM

I wish I had more warblers but I don't.

They are, in my opinion, the most beautiful birds of North America.
They are fast, nervous, deep wood birds and are often rare and hard to find.
Also in my area most of them are only migrating through so I have only about two weeks to catch them with the camera.

They tax both my photography and birding skills the most of any bird.

Here are a only a few of the 21 species in my area...

...order:
1. Male Redstart
2 and 3 Yellow Warbler
4. Yellow-rumped 'Warbler
5. Yellow-throated Warbler

Warblers are my favourites.

One summer - long ago - I worked in a Provincial Park that seemed to be a unique sanctuary for warblers. I'd go out in my spare time with the park naturalists and 'hunt' them down (with binoculars).

They are beautiful, bright tiny songsters of the boreal forest.

Thanks for sharing. Your pictures are great!

Wow, I envy you these shots. As you say these are very shy and very tough to get near, great job.
