A gloomy afternoon at Multnomah Falls
Posted By: hamidlmt, 03-05-2009, 03:03 PM

have had precious little time for much photography recently. But, the other day I had a free afternoon and my sister-in-law, Batinah, who recently moved in, wanted to go up to Multnomah Falls.

I took the K20D and the DA* 16-50mm 2.8 and made the best of the overcast noon day light...

A light breeze at Vista House on Crown Point.... This isn't Batinah being dramatic. I was crouched down too, trying to stay on my feet! That's the Columbia River Gorge for ya!

Latourell Falls. I am tremendously thankful for this weather-sealed combo!

For those with a lens sharpness fetish...

Very nice series

Love the falls in oregon... I have not been since I was a young lad.

How far is Multnomah falls from Silver Creek Falls?

Very nice! I see you are taking a liking to that lens. LOL

So.....you now have a live in dog sitter, huh? I bet the girls are loving the extra attention.

It's too bad the skies were so grey... not a bit of texture in the sky.

Silver Creek is south of here... about a 2 hour drive.

Oh, yes.... I'm really liking the lens! In fact, I picked up a 77 Limited around the same time and haven't used it much yet!

The extra dog sitting is nice. We had another friend move in with her dog... 3 dogs in the house now! I love it!

Those are both composed from about 5-9 shots, combined in-camera.... I kept experimenting that day and don't recall which is which. I'm really no landscape shooter, so these are pretty typical tourist angles.

Very good series. The first one is fun and I agree with James on those 2. Very good shots.
