afternoon on Trafalgar square - axl goes streetin'
Posted By: axl, 03-06-2009, 05:15 AM

Hi everybody again,
as I wrote in another thread we had glympse of good weather last friday of February here in London. I went to Richmond park earlier in the morning, but my wildlife attempts left me feeling unsatisfied so in the afternoon I decided to go to central Lonon. I went for lunch with my wife on her break and then while waiting for her to finish, I took a stroll. I shot other places, but nothin notable, but when I ended up on Trafalgar square I decide to look at it differently...
I always shot the buildings, the fountains, etc... this time around, I took a look at the people, here is few shots I like from that afternoon...
enjoy,

BR
Peter

PS: any comments are more then welcome

"Take a Look at Me Now" is classic. Tells the whole story except the end, leaving us to wonder how it turns out.

Nice street poto's time well spent ... nothing comes to mind on the last one other than Law and Order - appears to be a courthouse to me. Well done.

Axl, those shots are great! The best one in my opinion is #1. I like the perspective and the strong contrast

Great shots Peter. Trafalgar Square is an ideal place to escape from 'Section 44 of the Terrorism Act'..

Peter, I like these shots a lot! Good B+W handling great compositions, but most of all they've got the spirit of streetin', as you put it!

Some of your images will not load, while the remainder take well over 30 secs to load. Either there is problem with your host or the images are huge. I think you have a knack for these street images and your BW's are fantastic. Your verticals are the perfect size for my monitor, which is 22 inches. I guess they might not fit on 19 or 20, which are probably more standard. The one with no title- how about "taking a break."

I have similar problem with some other posts today, the pics either won't load at all or they'll take forever. And I mean posts of other people, so I don't know where's the problem...
BR

PS: with the verticals you are right, they are touch too big for smaller screens, but I prefer to size all pics posted on web for 800px on long side...

Images are taking forever to load.
Either they are too large in size or it takes forever to load.
Re-size smaller and watch dpi setting.
Also a good idea not to insert too many images into a single post.

Highlights on many shots look blown out.

It's not just his. I've experienced similar difficulties with many other posters.

all the shots are 800x53x px, I've always been posting this size here and it's never been a problem...
I really don't know

I like this series. Good contrasty images in here for sure. A lot of stories going on.
