Playing with both of my new cameras (*ist DL and a Canon G9). Saw this on the way home yesterday and the colors made me stop and try to capture it. This was the best I could do with both cameras in the short time that I tried.
First, the view from the Pentax *ist DL using the Tamron 18-250 lens, f/5.6, 143mm, 1/250s, ISO 200, EV +0.95 added in LR2:
Next, the same general scene as pictured by the Canon G9 shot in raw, f/4.8, 45mm (actually 44.4mm!?), 1/320s, ISO160, EV +0.29 added in LR2:
I like the 6mp CCD on the *ist DL very much. The Canon can also do a decent job in good conditions. Both cameras have their places.
Given that the DL lacks SR, I'm thinking about making it my DA Limited camera. Of course, I'll have to buy the DA21, DA40 and the DA70, but that's just my cross to bear, I guess.
