Grampa's Treasure
Posted By: Sailor, 03-08-2009, 05:38 PM

Some shots taken this PM of granddaughter Claire in the "music" room. The first one is technically not great but not bad considering that dodering old Grampa left the camera set at ISO 400 and f/8 so that the shutter speed was 1/10s (DA 70). The others were shot with my new DA 35 under the conditions listed.

Jer

ISO 400: 1/90@f/4:

ISO 800: 1/60@f/5.6:

ISO 400: 1/45@f/4:

She's adorable, Jer. My son would be thrilled that she plays the piano. #2 and #3 have totally awesome compositions imho.

Thanks much for the kind words. It's always a delight when she visits, which is pretty frequently since we live close by.

Thanks, buddy. She's got me wrapped around her little finger - she looks very much like her mother at that age (4 and a half).

Sweet grand daughter you have! Great series! I like the last two even if I usually prefer having the face in whole, maybe it is the how you have the two together one upon the other, so that it makes my imagination complete the whole face!

Thanks, Georg - I was thinking in terms of a mosaic (for lack of a better word).

Very nice, Jerry. I have been thinking long and hard about picking up the 35. Going to WA to visit my grandson (that's him in my avatar) the first week of July, and would really like to have that lens (I think).

I'm enjoying mine, Tom. The DA 70 is also a good grandchild lens.

Thanks, Pat. That picture is my favorite, as well.
