...so I took my wife and ran her through Lightroom and Photoshop, with a few plugins thrown at her for good measure (she's exhausted!). Here's what I ended up with:

Perhaps a soft focus effect would be easier on the eyes?

I really like it Alan. It reminds me of those Vincent Price/Edgar Allen Poe movies from too long ago, makes me feel old that I made that connection.

In fact I think the effects you have used make the shot seem like it could have been taken from the television screen.

Actually, I did use soft focus on parts of the frame, but that was before the texture was added.
