Maybe the last snow this winter
Posted By: gawan, 03-15-2009, 09:43 AM

This winter we have had more snow than in a few previous years, but it is now melting fast here in the south cost, so these may be the last snowy images for this winter..

I always liked pictures with trees on stone. We with a wife often look a photo from Karelia and Finland which did amateurs to travel on bicycles. It likes us again.

Nice captures Georg! I am happy we had snow, and even more it's gone long! But spring is late, even 5 or 6 weeks later than last year....

What a beautiful series, Georg. I love the look of a snowy forest on a bright sunny day - not something we see around here.

Thanks Jim, and yes, the atmosphere was like spring, temperature above freezing point and sunny - also the sent of the slowly exposing earth tells about the coming spring!

Thanks Dave! I guess this year we in par with you there, they promised some more snow, but wet snow. And you know what they say about spring time snow, it will take the old snow away!

Beautiful. It's nice to see the snow melt, and have summer start on it's way, but at the same time, it's a sad time, as the winter can bring a very different kind of beauty.

Never see this kind of thing down south where I live. Great shots. I love the light and I can feel the cold.

Thanks Corros, we had ca. 10-15 cm, this winter, not that much compared to the usual 60 cm in the North Eastern part of Finland
