An Oldie - K28/2
Posted By: Sailor, 03-16-2009, 05:57 PM

Over the rainy weekend I cruised through some of the Forum's lens reviews, noticed a single review of the K28/2 and remembered that I actually own one of these geezers. I bought it in 1981 (long after the K series had been replaced by the M lenses) from St. Louis Photo Supply (which located a demonstrator from a Pentax rep) for around 60-80 bucks if memory serves. Here are some sample shots I grabbed around the house this PM. Frankly, at f/2, it looks pretty soft - but these were handheld (by a semi-old man) and - of course - manually focused through the dim viewfinder of a modern, AF SLR. The others, shot at f/8, look OK. I thought some of ya'll might be interested.

A nice old fine there Jer - with enough light that lens looks pretty sharp.

Sharp - especially the last.

That lens is a lust-item. Right up there with the K28/3.5 - they should be about equal. If we get any sun I'll post something new on this thread for comparison.

These old lenses can produce, but I'm spoiled with DA lenses - not only AF, but all of the exposure variations available, as well.
