In February I was in Canada skiing. A great country and friendly people. Great nature, and not the lines that are normal in Europe, and not as crowded. In can be chilly though, and this season they hadn’t gotten the major snowfall as former years; (lowest in 18 years).

We flew to Calgary and started out in Kicking Horse resort :

I really enjoyed the 43 lmt. That I had gotten just prior to the vacation. With the semi-pancake design, it hardly took up any space or weight in the backpack. And together with the sealed K10, it was a sweet package.
We were also in Banff, which is a national park, so always a lot of scenery and wildlife around :

Kicking Horse have an overview of the Colorado River Delta (I believe it is). Makes a playground for a lot of birds and wildlife :

Nice series of photos. My son and I always go to Golden in the summer for some white water rafting on the kicking horse river. Golden has some great slopes and usually lots and lots of power. Looks like a good time was had by all.

Thanks, I tried the Kicking Horse River in Golden B.C., some years ago. It was superb fun, and great rapids. I would like to try white water rafting some day again.
My cousin she tried the Zambezi, but that might be a bit much for me

I like the snow and water shot as it is, it has a sepia look to it. It needs straightening just a little so if you are going to fix that, I wouldn't mind seeing it a little brighter.

Looks like a nice vacation, but most of the snow pictures are way too dark.
I always set exposure compensation to +1 or even +2 when shooting snow landscape, so that the snow really gets white and not dark grey.

Thanks. I just got a new computer, the screen is not calibrated and I just found out that it shows the pictures very bright, with pale colour. So the RAW pictures that I converted came out way too dark, and White Balance was hard to get right.
Many of the snow scenes, I had added 1/3 or 2/3 extra exposure. But editing on the new computer they seemed very light, so I took back some of the EV.
I had also commented on others shots in this sub-forum, and thought many were blown and lacked some colour. But when I saw them on another computer they were spot on, and mine were the ones too saturated.

I also fainted Sharpening, to disguise noise. But when I saw them another place, there wasn’t the noise in them that I thought.

Your action shots are not bad. But next time you shoot in and around snow, use 1/2 to 1 stop overexposure to compensate for the white snow. I always start at 1/2, or more, the brighter it is outside.

Great ski pictures. I have been wanting to get up to Kicking Horse for years. It looks like a great to place to ski. Were all of the photos from there? The second group looked like a very different mountain.

Thanks for commenting. Very fine work you have at PPG, I haven’t been to Finland yet, but have seen most other Nordic countries.

If you don't have a colorimeter (highly recommended), you can use a simple gamma chart like this
Gamma Adjustment
and adjust brightness & contrast until you can distinguish all the gray shades.
