Birding @ 10mm (Not a typo!) 6 large pics
Posted By: MightyMike, 03-19-2009, 10:07 PM

Well i went out last weekend to photograph some birds, usually i use my 100-300 F4 but this time i decided to do something different, i decided to use my Pentac 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 Fish-eye...

yep thats right an ultra-wide fish-eye lens for birding

here is the gallery (it has a few other shots in it too)

Beautiful and different - great! The bird let you come surprisingly close for the shots. How did you sedate it?

He slipped some crunched-up Ecstacy in the bird feeder.

Really loving the pictures, by the by. The closeness and focal length adds drama.

Thanks Everyone for your comments, i used the wireless remote but the birds are so friendly they would have let me sit there and press the shutter button, i do have an uncropped verssion but no time to post it and i'll be gone for the next few weeks, so jim if you still want the uncropped version send me an email and i'll send it to you in a couple of weeks

It works! Reminds us that there are numerous methods to this madness! The second image -- of the wing display -- is, well, only one word comes to mind: scrumptious.
