Still not used to taking bif image with this manual old lens
(A300mmF4) after this harsh winter. At least it is a good start of the birdie season

Thanks for taking time to comment. Very good sign this spring. You never know if there is still a couple of snowstorm before winter is over

Great series! Love these a lot! The first one would be my favourite, if I ignore the over exposure, good pose!

Thanks
The blown highlight was there as I was not using fill flash. The subject was close enough to use fill flash though

Awesome shots. Birds of prey are amazing creatures. Great series. They all are interesting.

Great pictures! I used to bushhog some farmland in the summers while I was in college. I had this huge red tail, about 1.5 ft tall, that got accustomed to me being there everyday. He would sit nearby and wait for me to scare out a rat/mouse/snake on the tractor. Eventually he would come and sit on the fence posts. As long as I was on the tractor I could drive right up next to him, but he was weary of me walking up to him. It was a great experience.

This one was particularly co-operative. This almost filled up my frame . But because of the less than ideal angle and distraction, I did not post it earlier

Any hawk that doesn't swoop down and gouge your eyes out is being cooperative in my book!

Thanks for commenting.

Hawks are hard to trace in built up area like Toronto.

GBH are now in their rookeries and this is the best time to approach their exact location . But getting clear shots is next to impossible - at least to me
