Cloudy Afternoon - Flower Series
Posted By: Sailor, 03-31-2009, 06:45 PM

Here are some hand-held close-ups of flowers along a path in a local wetlands. These were shot with either DA 70 or DA 35 under a dismal, cloudy sky.

Thanks much. That is my favorite, as well.

Good series Jer - looks like spring is in full swing. Nice capture of the bug.

Hey, buddy - I appreciate your comment. Regarding the bug, I have to confess I didn't notice it until I post processed the image; I was distracted by fire ants at the moment of exposure (in both senses of the word).

nice series, Jer

I actually like this kind of light for flowers, it's soft and gentle and brings out the colors

Thanks much - overcast is good for this sort of thing but not for the mood I was in; I felt much better when I PP'd these shots.

It generally doesn't ever get genuinely cold around here, but it has been cloudy. Today the sun is coming out, so I think I'll put the top down, drive to the beach, grab a burger and a beer and shoot some pictures.

Agree, great shots! I like the first one most, but would have cropped it more tightly myself, but it is your view that counts!

Thanks so much, Georg. Your advice sounds good to me; I'll play around with cropping - as soon as I get a new desktop. The mother board on mine died today, so I'm shopping for a new one. Happily, I've got this little laptop as a back up.
