Ruined castles and peaceful lochs in the Scottish Highlands (3 panoramas)
Posted By: brkl, 04-03-2009, 11:08 AM

I was just on a short roadtrip to the vicinity of Fort William. We were blessed with the best weather I've seen since I came here. I took loads of photos, but only had my FA35 with me on the almost spontaneous trip.

I can't begin to describe how majestic and beautiful the Highlands can be. I hope these captured at least some of it.

Thanks, fellas! If you ever get a chance to visit Scotland, esp. the Highlands, take it!

Thanks, fellow Who fan ;D It certainly is. Apparently I'm heading to the islands tomorrow at the crack of dawn, can't wait. There are some other pics from the same trip in this thread... not that anyone was interested in those.

Autopano Pro. I wouldn't have the patience with it without software -- I don't even own a proper tripod. Much of the time Autopano is nearly automatic, but still versatile enough that you can correct its mistakes. Very nice.

I noticed that shooting panoramas are made helluva lot easier by switching to JPG and crippling the resolution to 6MP or even 2MP (all of these are made of 2MP photos!) The K10D can process those extremely quickly, and it'll make stitching them together much less intensive for your computer.
