Ruined castles and peaceful lochs in the Scottish Highlands (3 panoramas)
Posted By: brkl, 04-03-2009, 11:08 AM

I was just on a short roadtrip to the vicinity of Fort William. We were blessed with the best weather I've seen since I came here. I took loads of photos, but only had my FA35 with me on the almost spontaneous trip.

I can't begin to describe how majestic and beautiful the Highlands can be. I hope these captured at least some of it.

Love em, especially the full size on flicr. #1 is my favorite. I don't see where the panorama joins are, that's really good on your part!

Thanks! Yeah, the full-sized ones are definitely nicer.

Although I can't take all of the credit. The panorama software (Autopano Pro) is practically automatic when everything works out. The third one actually took some effort, though.

Really nice work. I like the first one best. I think the second one would be my favorite if the castle had been more to the left, instead of near dead center.

Thanks! That's all I can hope for... And mithrandir, point taken. I think I was too stricken with the scenery to think about framing And it's not the same as when taking single shots...

Three very nice panos especially when viewed at the original size, that does look like gorgeous countryside. The third one has a few slight misalignments just about right in the middle, should not be too hard to fix.

Thanks, Heinrich. Ack, that one took time, hopefully I'll have the energy to go and fix it...

Thanks! I remember 14 shots for the first one and 19 for the third one. Probably less for the second one. A wide lens would really have helped

Original size really is required in panos! These are great, especially the middle one, which is my favourite!

Wow, very nice! I like the saturated colors and the extreme panorama ratio!
