B&W Urban/Industrials Part 2!
Posted By: metroeloise, 04-03-2009, 06:57 PM

Out playing on a sunny day! (Big Deal Here in the NW)

1) Some call this the ugliest art in the city. I am glad there is art and support any of it. I am all about finding the best pictures of this. Posted one earlier in the snow. Nice?

2) Too much to do to go all the way down to the marina. This one is a 17mm k20d shot of the GP buildings.

3) More in town.

4) Across the street from Home.

5) Old City Hall Building

C&C Welcomed. Thank You.

Thanks. That sculpture has small shaped cutout on those sides. That's the sun coming through it. New sculpture in town and many bad mouth it. It think it is a treat to be there at all... More art is what I say.... Making it my mission to get good pictures of it.

Another nice set, looks like you are really getting a handle on PP.

Thanks. I am getting it more intuitively. See a picture and just know where to go with it. Trying to focus on one technique at a time too.

I like #2 and #5. Did you make adjustments in LR?
Interested to know how you processed the two images.

Yeah these are all 100% Lr. (Focused there and will move on to Ps ! Lots of reading....)

These are simple. One thing is I used the IR preset as a starting point.

Process: I have been working with a few different presets at a time. click around, find one that looks interesting then apply and undo while going through the settings to see what changed. Work some of the settings until I see the part they do. Settle in on settings I like and (once I get the calibrator) make my own settings.

With the IR there are a few things I like to do to it depending on the photo itself.

Today feels like 6 Christmases. decided to get studio lighting gear. Got a portable Ac flash kit and UPSanta just arrived. Hope this helps some...

That is so totally right. Focus and deep technique is the way.

#2 seems like it would be amazing large.

Yes! And the real work involved. Thinking, planning, patience, tenacity, discipline...

All that in a 1/250 of a second!

I think #2 would look great huge. Will try it out.
