Beautiful study in simplicity and contrast. Notice the splotchy sky (towards the top), perhaps from pushing the level/curve too far? The contrail takes too much away from the main subject - it need to go.

Yep, the contrail kills it.

Thanks for the comments, the contrail is definitely a problem. How would you best get rid of it in photoshop while keeping the gradient consistent?

I'm not too sure what to do about the sky, I used the red-filter preset in photoshop when converting to black and white. I can lighten the blues/cyans more but I prefer the contrast as it is.
